New Head Boys Soccer Coach

Ahmed Gathing began his soccer life at the age of six, quickly elevating to the upper leagues and earning numerous awards on both high school and club teams. He moved into coaching as Head Boys Varsity Soccer coach at Frederick Douglass H.S. in Atlanta, from 2001-2005. He then served as the JV Boys Soccer coach from 2006-2009 at Centennial H.S. At West Forsyth HS., Gathing coached as Varsity Boys Soccer assistant in 2013 and Varsity Boys Head Soccer coach from 2014-2015, where they reached the playoffs once during his West Forsyth tenure. Coach Gathing moved back to Centennial H.S. to coach as Head Boys Varsity Soccer from 2016 -2021. During this time, he coached a region player of the year and took his team to the elite 8.

In 2022, he moved to Chattahoochee where he served as the Varsity Girls Soccer Assistant. The hooch girls made it to the Final Four during the State competition.

In addition to coaching in high school, Gathing coached 4-5 year old’s at the YMCA in 2001. He coached 7 years at Ralph Lundy Soccer Academy and earned a national diploma from the United Soccer Academy. He is excited to continue his coaching career at Hooch as the Head Boys Varsity Coach.
